Now The Son of Man Has Been Glorified

DiscipleshipForIran

When Jesus and his disciples gathered in the upper room for the Passover meal, we read: Therefore, when he (Judas) was gone out, Jesus said, Now is the Son of man glorified, and God is glorified in him. John 13:31.

He tells his disciples that this is for my glory. But as we know, with the departure of Judas, the process of betrayal, arrest, torture, and finally the death of Jesus on the cross had started. How does Christ's death on the cross glorify him?

You remember that Jesus was baptized by John the Baptist in the Jordan River, and the spirit came down from heaven like a dove, and cried out to him, "This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased." Jesus could go back to the Jordan River and declare "Now the Son of Man is glorified." But he didn't do it!

On the Mount of Transfiguration, when Moses and Elijah came to him and the disciples saw Jesus appeared with his glorified image , God said, "This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased." Jesus could declare, "Now the Son of Man is glorified." But he still didn't do it.

When it came to his crucification in those shameful, humiliating circumstances, in the face of these false accusations, the false witnesses, the inexhaustible, infamous insults, among the evil people who have stripped him down, beat and ridicule him, and in the threshold of death, along with torture, do you think the son of man has been glorified !? Yes, his glory is revealed in his death, and he knew it. "For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me. (John 6:38)

Believers in asylum seekers follow the same path. Their ups and downs are a testimony to the glory of the Lord Jesus, because He did not forget them on this unwanted journey and conveyed to them the message of the salvation of the Bible. Those who endure hardships, disappointments, injuries, and in many cases insults and humiliations in every single day and month of asylum and in the difficult conditions of the camps, and with their new faith in Christ they glorify Jesus name. Even in recent months, with the outbreak of the Coronavirus Crisis and the imposition of more restrictions on their place of residence, there have been regular meetings to study the Bible online to build families and other asylum seekers and strengthen their faith. The concern of a true believer is the glory, honor, and praise of God. They have set an example for Christ and have decided to give up their lives to the word of Christ in the face of adversity and persecution, and to glorify their Lord. In times like this we better pause a little and learn from them. What do you think?
